The Victron MultiPlus-II is a powerful multifunctional inverter/charger designed for reliable battery backup, solar energy storage and off-grid power systems. Combining the proven features of the MultiPlus with advanced Energy Storage System (ESS) functionality, it is ideal for residential, commercial, marine, vehicle and off-grid applications.
With intelligent PowerControl and PowerAssist, the MultiPlus-II helps prevent generators and electrical supplies from being overloaded while providing additional power from the battery when demand exceeds available grid or generator capacity.
PowerControl & PowerAssist
The MultiPlus-II intelligently manages available power from the grid or generator. A maximum input current can be configured, allowing the inverter to use surplus capacity for battery charging without overloading the supply.
PowerAssist takes this a step further. When a temporary peak load exceeds the available power from the grid, generator or shore connection, the MultiPlus-II automatically supplements the available power with energy from the battery. Once demand decreases, available power can be used to recharge the battery.
This makes the MultiPlus-II an excellent choice for systems where reliable power is required despite limited grid or generator capacity.
Solar Power During a Grid Failure
The Victron MultiPlus-II can be used in both off-grid and grid-connected solar systems and is compatible with solar charge controllers and grid-tie inverters.
When correctly configured as part of a Victron ESS or backup system, solar energy can continue supplying essential loads during a grid power failure, helping to maximise the use of stored and available solar energy.
Fast Automatic Backup Switching
The MultiPlus-II provides virtually uninterrupted power to connected essential loads when the grid or generator fails.
The inverter automatically switches to battery power in less than 20 milliseconds, allowing computers, networking equipment and other sensitive electronics to continue operating with minimal disruption.
The MultiPlus-II also features two AC outputs:
AC Output 1: Provides uninterrupted backup power to essential loads.
AC Output 2: Only operates when AC input power is available, making it suitable for non-essential loads such as geysers, air conditioners and other high-consumption appliances that should not drain the battery during an outage.
Expandable Power with Parallel and Three-Phase Operation
The MultiPlus-II offers flexible system expansion for larger solar and energy storage installations.
Up to 6 MultiPlus-II units can operate in parallel to increase available power. Three identical units can also be configured for three-phase power, with up to six sets of three units connected in parallel for even greater system capacity.
This makes the MultiPlus-II suitable for everything from residential backup systems to larger commercial and off-grid energy installations.
Easy System Configuration, Monitoring & Control
Victron systems are designed to make configuration and monitoring straightforward. Settings can be configured using VEConfigure software and a computer or laptop with the appropriate interface.

Remote Monitoring with Victron VRM
Add a Victron GX device, such as the Cerbo GX, to connect your energy system to the internet and access it remotely.
Through Victron Remote Management (VRM), system owners and installers can monitor performance, view historical data and check system status remotely. Depending on the configuration, system settings can also be adjusted remotely.
This makes it easier to manage and support solar, battery backup and off-grid power systems without always needing to be on site.
