The BMV Smart is designed for the Internet of Things (IoT) age, featuring built-in Bluetooth for seamless wireless communication.
As Bluetooth is integrated across most Victron Energy products, setup becomes simpler, cleaner, and faster — reducing cabling and enhancing system performance through synchronized communication.
Control and Monitor with the VictronConnect App
Download the VictronConnect app to unlock the full potential of your BMV Smart.
Using your smartphone, tablet, or any Bluetooth-enabled device, you can:
Customize all settings with ease
Monitor key data from a single screen
View historical performance logs
Update firmware automatically when new features become available
Easy Installation
Installation is quick and hassle-free:
All connections link to the quick-connect PCB on the current shunt
The shunt connects to the monitor using a standard RJ12 cable (10 m included)
Includes a 2 m battery cable with fuse — no extra parts required
For mounting flexibility, the BMV Smart includes:
Square and round front bezels
Securing ring for rear mounting
Screws for front mounting
Midpoint Voltage Monitoring
One weak cell or battery can compromise an entire bank. Midpoint voltage monitoring provides early warning of imbalance in series-connected batteries, helping prevent costly damage.
For enhanced protection and longer battery life, use the Victron Battery Balancer (BMS012201000) with series-connected lead-acid batteries.
(See BMV manual section 5.2 for more details.)
Ultra-Low Power Consumption
The BMV Smart is engineered for minimal energy draw, ensuring your batteries retain charge even when left unattended.
⚠️ Note: Especially in Li-ion batteries, even small standby currents can lead to damage if the system remains discharged for extended periods. The BMV Smart’s ultra-low draw helps protect against this risk.
Bi-Stable Alarm Relay
A bi-stable alarm relay ensures that current draw does not increase during an alarm event — protecting system efficiency and battery capacity.
