The Freedom Lite Commercial range from Freedom Won represents the next generation of energy storage, delivering significantly longer service life and higher efficiency at a fraction of the lifetime cost compared to traditional battery technologies.
Cost Comparison
At first glance, Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO₄) batteries may appear more expensive than lead-acid, but a realistic scenario analysis shows otherwise:
Purchase costs are very similar when correctly sized.
Any small premium is outweighed by a much longer lifespan.
High efficiency means less wasted energy and allows for a solar array up to 30% smaller to achieve the same results.
With deep depth of discharge (DoD) and high efficiency, a Freedom Lite battery requires only about 35% of the amp-hour rating of an equivalent lead-acid system to deliver the same usable energy.
Control Interface
Each unit is equipped with a Battery Management System (BMS) that provides relay and analogue outputs as well as CAN Bus communication. This allows independent control of, and communication with, compatible inverters and solar charge controllers via multi-core and Ethernet cables. Parameters such as charge/discharge limits and state of charge are actively managed, and every Lite unit is preconfigured for the selected inverter brand prior to delivery.
Power Interface
Appropriately sized positive and negative cables are supplied for connecting the 48V DC system to the inverter and solar charge controller. For safety, the DC circuit is protected by a shunt trip circuit breaker.
